At The Canterbury Bike Project we love these drop in sessions – our young persons evening is a favourite because at the project we want to get more young people engaged in cycling and maintaining their own bikes as we feel it is an incredibly rewarding life skill. The best part – there is no charge for attending. If you are under 18 just drop in with your bike and an adult. It is best to book a slot to ensure there’s a workbench, stand, and set of tools available to you.
Who is it for?
Run every Wednesday, we welcome any person under 18 to this session. If you want to learn basic bike maintenance to fix your bike then this is for you. We invite you to book a workbench and start wielding some bicycle tools. We are always at hand to assist, and give guidance. There is no set course or agenda for the evening, it depends on what turns up on the night. Similarly this is not a course, and there’s no assessment (Yippee!).
Just a hands-on session with your own bike.
What does it cover?
The question is more, what can we cover in the evening. Anything basic and simple. If you have a specific problem with your bike, or a particular thing you’d like to learn about, or a list of questions about cycling then add a message to your booking and we can be prepared for you.
What should you bring?
You, your bike, your happy face, and an adult (we can make them stand outside if you prefer). This is all about helping you understand your bike a little better.
Course format
It’s not a course, there is no assessment or pre-requisites. There may be tea and cake, or coffee and biscuits, or a combination, or none of the above.
If you have any questions or would like an informal chat about this, or other course we can offer, then please contact us.
